In the month of December I had a lot of downtime and read a total of 7 books. I also was able to add over 50,000 words to my novel, which was great. Here are my opinions on all the books I read!   The first book I finished in December was Eliza and Her Monsters. I took a gamble on this book since I wasn’t sure if I would like it and ultimately I have some mixed feelings about this book. The story was compelling enough, but I didn’t really like the way mental illness was handled. I gave it 3 Stars. There are two parts of this book: the story of Adam and his romantic relationships and then a paranormal story about a girl who was murdered in Adam’s hometown. I am done with my first term of college! The last three weeks of the term and finals were really demanding, so unfortunately I only got through four books in November. However, one of these books was super huge, so I still feel pretty accomplished. First, I got to read The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater. This was on my TBR this month, so I’m really glad I got to it. I first read this book in 2014 and really did not like it, but I enjoyed it this time around! I loved that this book focused more on Ronan and his backstory since he’s my favorite character in this series. I gave this book 4 stars and will definitely be continuing this series! I also got to the second book on my November TBR, which was Dear Martin by Nic Stone. This book focuses on the story of Justyce, who is arrested and detained for something he didn’t do, and the months after that he processes his arrest. I’ve been on a role the past few months. I’ve been reading between 7-10 books every month and have been up-to-date on all the new releases. This month was different. I am deep into my first term of college and only got through 5 books during the month of October. Of course, I have opinions on all of them. Here they are: First I read Goodbye Days by Jeff Zentner. I was really anticipating this one since I read The Serpent King , also be Jeff Zentner, which I enjoyed immensely. However, I was super disappointed in this one. So I just counted and it looks like I’ve read 11 books in the month of September! Part of it is that I just got into audio books and listened to 4 this month and read a graphic novel, which I flew through. Still, that means I got through six novels on top of college, something I’m really proud of! Check them out: First I read/listened to Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare. This has been on my TBR forever so I’m really glad I got to finally read it especially since I enjoyed it so much. Overall, it was just an okay book for me. It’s a retelling of Snow White that has underlying themes of feminism, which I enjoyed. Heyyy! It’s been a minute since I did a Wrap Up & TBR… I think the last one I did was in December. Mostly because for the first half of the year there wasn’t really anything to wrap up on. I was in a huge reading slump and was working super hard to graduate high school a year early (which I did!). Before starting college in the fall I’ve been really focused on reading and got through seven books in the month of August and there’s still four days in the month so I might even finish one more! Here’s a list of them! First I got my hands on Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor. To say the least, it was absolutely fantastic. This book is about 500 pages, so it’s pretty huge but I loved every page. The magic throughout was unique to Laini Taylor and was well crafted. There was also a really tender romance that was a joy to read. Obviously 5 stars!
