The first half of 2017 was a time tough for me reading wise, but during the second half I read over 4o books, reading a total of 56 books this year! However, I was looking through the list and I didn’t have too many favorites. To be one of my top picks, the book had to receive five stars from me and not be a reread. I’ve come up with a total of 6 top books, though there is a 7th that has not been published yet and I can’t talk about too much. Here they are!   The rest of the books in this post aren’t ordered, but Strange The Dreamer was my #1 book of the year for sure. I went into this book not expecting anything and came out amazed. 1. A book everyone else enjoyed that you disliked On GoodReads, The Book Thief by Markus Zusak has a 4.35/5 average rating, yet I didn’t like it at all. I read it such a long time ago, the only thing I can remember is that I thought it was extremely boring. However, I might pick it up again, because my reading tastes have changed since the last time I read it. 2. A book everyone else disliked but you enjoyed Okay, so it was really hard for me to find a book for this one. Usually, I tend to go with the general opinion. Yes, not everyone disliked Dorothy Must Die , but there’s a lot of mixed reviews on it. I personally really enjoyed it, but I do feel the series is rolling on a downhill, so I know where people are coming from. 3. Hello everyone! Since we just past the mid point of the year, I thought I would talk about my top 5 favorite reads so far. These are in no particular order and weren't neccassarily publish in 2016, but all are books that have stood out to me! For a long time, I was procastinating reading Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe because I thought it was fantasy. That being said, I am so glad I just read the synopsis and figured out it was contemporary. From the first page, I absulutely fell in love with this book, and it automatically became one of my favorites. It was so poetic and beautiful, and the characters were fantastic. Hey guys! I've been seeing this tag float around and I thought I would give it a go! 1. A book that totally should’ve gotten a sequel OMG guys that ending! I would absolutely love a sequel, or even a short story that takes place after Eleanor & Park. Just like an update to know what’s happening with them like two years down the line. 2. Totally should’ve gotten a spin-off series Cassandra Clare is a master at spin-off series. In fact, the Infernal Devices trilogy is a spin-off series to the Mortal Instruments series. So next, she should definitely write a series about Jem Castairs and his adventures as a Silent Brother. 3. An author that should totally write more books I’m going to go with Jennifer Niven, who wrote the wonderful All The Bright Places, which is her first novel. Hey all! I have a HUGE TBR (to be read) pile, and I’ve seen this take everywhere, so I thought I’d give it a go! 1. A book on your TBR pile you haven’t finish For this one, I’d have to say The Host by Stephenie Meyer. I think I started this at the beginning of 2012, when I was really into Twilight. I got about a 100 pages into it, and I really just couldn’t get the storyline, although I enjoyed the movie a lot. I hope to read it sometime soon, but I kind of want to wait until the whole series out (is Stephenie going to write that ever !?!). 2. Throughout my reading adventures, I have found so much series that I enjoy and love. Some, even, I’ve read multiple times. However, there are some series that I just can’t get into, no matter how much praise they receive. Still, if you see a series that you really loved in here, let me know and I’ll give ‘em a second go. In no way are these books bad, they simply haven’t caught my interest enough to keep going. Series I Have No Interest In Finishing The Trylle Trilogy by Amanda Hocking: Honestly, I don’t remember much about this series. I know I read the first two, and just had an okay feel from them. The plot wasn’t that spectacular, basically following the storyline of “girl who thinks she’s human is actually a mystical princess” troppe.
